Scholarship Opportunities in Western University Canada

There are different scholarship opportunities applicants can applied to at western university for both domestic and international students;

  • Western International Admission Scholarships: The Western International Admission Scholarship is a four-year award. Students selected for these scholarships will receive $10,000 CAD in the first year and the funds will be directly applied against the tuition bill. An additional $5,000 CAD will be applied against the tuition bill annually in the second, third, and fourth years of study.
  • National Indigenous Scholarship Program: This scholarships is for Domestic students (Canadians), 5 awards at $50,000 each to Indigenous students applying from Canadian high schools or applying from a postsecondary institution.
  • National Scholarship Program: The national scholarships comprises of the following;
    Neen Hodgins National Entrance Scholarship
    ONE at $80,000; payable $20,000 per academic year for a period of four years.

    5 at $50,000 ($20,000 for year one, $10,000 annually for years two to four)
    Beryl Ivey Continuing Entrance Scholarship
    ONE at $92,000; payable $23,000 per academic year for a period of four years.
    Neen Hodgins President’s International Entrance Scholarship
    ONE at up to $80,000; payable $20,000 per academic year for a period of four years.
    International President’s Entrance Scholarships
    3 at $50,000 ($20,000 for year one, $10,000 annually for years two to four)
    Faculty Entrance Scholarships
    Up to 15 at $30,000 ($12,000 for year one, $6,000 annually for years two to four)
    National Scholarship Study Abroad Awards
    Up to 46 at $2,500 for up to 4 months (one term), $5,000 for over 4 months (more than one term)
  • Automatic Admission Scholarships: This is awarded to outstanding academic achievements of our incoming high school students, Western offers the following admission scholarships;
    Western Scholarship of Excellence: 250 scholarships at $8000 each
    Western Scholarship of Distinction: scholarships at $3000 each
    Western Admission Scholarship: scholarships at $2500 each
  • Project Hero Scholarship: The Project Hero Scholarship is awarded annually to undergraduate full-time students in a first-entry degree program who are the sons and daughters of Canadian military killed while serving in an active mission. Applications must be submitted by May 30 preceding the fall/winter academic year.
  • Schulich Leader Scholarships: Applicants should be entrepreneurial minded, and intend to pursue a career in one or more of the following areas:  Technology, engineering, entrepreneurship and business enterprise, applied scientific research.
  • Medicine & Dentistry Schulich Scholarships: chulich Scholarships are awarded to students entering first year of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) program based on academic achievement and demonstrated financial need.
  • Western’s Admission Scholarships for Black Students and for Indigenous Students: Admission scholarship program for Black and Indigenous students offers scholarships continuing for up to four years to recognize outstanding secondary school students entering the first year of any undergraduate program at Western University directly from high school.
  • Scholarships for Globally Displaced Students: Western has committed $600,000 in financial support to students and scholars facing disruption and displacement due to conflict or war in their home countries.
